Commodity Buyer & Supplier FAQs

Have questions about working with Global Commodity Bridge? Below you'll find answers about how our buyer and supplier introduction process works, what information helps us evaluate potential opportunities, and what to expect when exploring a commodity connection.

About Global Commodity Bridge

What is Global Commodity Bridge?
Global Commodity Bridge (GCB) helps connect qualified commodity buyers with suppliers and producers whose capabilities may align with their requirements.

Our focus is on creating professional introductions across international commodity markets while helping both sides communicate important information such as commodity type, specifications, volume, origin, destination, supply capability and expected timelines.
Is Global Commodity Bridge a commodity seller or producer?
Global Commodity Bridge is primarily focused on facilitating connections between potential buyers and suppliers rather than representing itself as the producer of every commodity presented through our network.

The actual seller, supplier or producer involved in an opportunity may vary depending on the commodity, specifications, geography and commercial requirements.
Does Global Commodity Bridge guarantee a transaction?
No. An introduction does not guarantee that a transaction will occur. Commodity transactions depend on many factors, including product availability, specifications, pricing, volume, logistics, documentation, due diligence, commercial terms and agreement between the parties involved.

Our objective is to help create a more relevant starting point for those conversations.

For Commodity Buyers

What information should a commodity buyer provide?
Buyers should provide as much relevant information as possible about their requirement. This may include the commodity or product, specifications or grade, approximate volume, desired origin if applicable, destination, delivery requirements, expected timeline and other important commercial considerations.

Clear requirements help determine whether a potential supplier connection may be appropriate.
Can GCB help buyers locate commodity suppliers?
Global Commodity Bridge can review buyer requirements and explore whether relevant suppliers or producers within our network or sourcing channels may align with the opportunity.

Availability and suitability depend on the specific commodity, volume, specifications, destination and other transaction requirements.
What commodity markets does GCB work with?
Global Commodity Bridge is developing relationships and opportunities across several major commodity sectors, including energy commodities, agricultural commodities and metals, with additional market categories evaluated as appropriate.

Specific availability depends on current buyer requirements and supplier capabilities.

For Suppliers & Producers

What information should a commodity supplier provide?
Suppliers and producers should provide clear information about the commodities they can supply, including product specifications, origin, approximate supply capability, available volumes, markets served, documentation and other relevant company or commercial information.

The more clearly capabilities are presented, the easier it becomes to determine whether they may align with an active or future buyer requirement.
Can suppliers submit commodities for potential buyer introductions?
Yes. Suppliers with genuine commodity capabilities may provide information about their products and supply capacity for consideration.

Submission does not guarantee an introduction or transaction, but it allows Global Commodity Bridge to better understand the supplier's capabilities when relevant buyer requirements arise.
Does GCB purchase commodities directly from suppliers?
No. GCB facilitates introductions and communication around potentially aligned commodity opportunities, but an introduction does not guarantee that a transaction will occur.

Buyers and suppliers remain responsible for evaluating opportunities, conducting appropriate due diligence, negotiating commercial terms, reviewing transaction documentation and independently deciding whether to proceed.

Commodity Introductions & Process

How Our Commodity Introduction Process Works
1. Submit the opportunity.

A buyer submits a commodity requirement or a supplier provides information regarding available supply, including relevant specifications, approximate volume, destination or markets served, and desired timeline.
2. Initial review.

GCB reviews the information provided to better understand the commodity, specifications, volume, geography, timeline, supply or purchasing requirements, and other relevant commercial considerations.
3. Potential alignment.

When a potentially relevant counterparty or opportunity is identified, GCB may request additional information from one or both parties to better understand whether the requirements and capabilities appear commercially aligned.
4. Introduction & Facilitated Communication

When appropriate, GCB may facilitate an introduction between potentially aligned parties and remain involved in supporting communication as discussions progress. Depending on the opportunity, additional commercial information or documentation may be requested as the parties evaluate potential next steps
5. Due Diligence & Commercial Decisions

Buyers and suppliers remain responsible for conducting their own due diligence, evaluating proposed terms, reviewing transaction documentation, and making their own independent decisions regarding whether to enter into a transaction or contractual relationship.

What happens after a buyer and supplier are introduced?

Following an introduction, Global Commodity Bridge may remain involved in facilitating communication between the parties as discussions progress regarding product specifications, volume, pricing, availability, logistics, documentation, payment terms, timelines, and other commercial requirements.

Our role is to help maintain clear communication and support the progression of potentially aligned opportunities. Buyers and suppliers remain responsible for conducting their own due diligence, reviewing transaction documents and terms, and making their own independent commercial and contractual decisions.

Does GCB verify every buyer and supplier?
GCB may request information and supporting documentation to better understand a buyer's requirements or a supplier's capabilities before progressing an opportunity. However, GCB's review should not be considered a substitute for independent due diligence or professional verification.

Buyers and suppliers remain responsible for conducting their own appropriate commercial, legal, financial, compliance and counterparty review before entering into any transaction or contractual relationship.
Does Global Commodity Bridge work internationally?
Yes. Global Commodity Bridge is designed to facilitate introductions and business relationships involving commodity opportunities across international markets.

Whether a particular opportunity can progress depends on factors including commodity availability, origin and destination, specifications, volume, logistics, applicable laws and regulations, documentation requirements, and the capabilities and requirements of the parties involved.
